April Ross

April Ross has won more than one medal at the Olympics. She is among a few female players of beach volleyball to have achieved this feat. In Tokyo during the next few days she will attempt to claim her third Olympic medal with fellow the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross will also be hoping for her first Olympic medal. At 39, this could be her final opportunity to claim the gold medal at an Olympics. But she's confident top awards are within reach. Ross declared on NBC Boston: "If we try our best, and even if we just play well I believe we can get the gold medal." That's why I'm taking the chance too. Ross born August 22nd, 1982 located in Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area with her family. Apart from competing in various sports, Ross was also a student at Newport Harbor High School. As a prep-athlete she was also a participant in indoor volleyball and track. In her final game, she clearly stood out. As a time at the high school level as per her college bio, she was an outside-hitter, middle blocker and setter. The results of her efforts were acknowledged by her being named 1999 Gatorade's Circle Of Champions National players of the year. She also captured the award in 2000. Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman might be working on a project at the beginning of 2017, but Ross was an experienced player at the beach before they joined forces. As a matter of fact, Ross has won several important tournaments throughout her career with two partners. One is a volleyball legend. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years between 2007 and the year 2013. She also coached Klineman as well as herself. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be an impressive force on the international arena, taking home the 2009 World Championship with each other. The 2012 Olympic Games, they were awarded the gold medal. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team and Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor when she retired. They took home the bronze medal in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Following high school, and for a few years before she hit the sand as a pro Ross was a ball with the Trojans of USC as an collegiate. And her run at the school was one to remember. In her first year at the school, 2000 was when she won the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of award and become an All-American. The team also saw her help in helping the Trojans get to the Final Four. Her personal tragedy was a crushing loss during her sophomore year and yet she went on to repeat as an All-American. Over the course of her final two seasons, she took the Trojans up the mountain and won consecutive national titles. In 2003-2004, Ross was named the best collegiate female volleyball player in America by the Honda Sports Award. Ross played international relations as a major at USC. Margie Ross did not get to see Ross become the highest beach volleyball levels. Ross suffered the loss of the breast cancer that she battled in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She has kept her parent close to his heart. Margie remains a source of inspiration, both off and on at the beach.
