Reese Witherspoon seriously pursued her acting after enrolling in Stanford University. Early successes in the field of critical success included parts in movies like Pleasantville and Election however it was her role as Elle Woods in the box office hit Legally Blonde that marked a pivotal moment in her professional career. Witherspoon was awarded the Academy Award for her performance in Walk the Line in 2005. Water for Elephants: This Means War & Wild, for both of which she received an Oscar nomination. Her success has also been extended to the world of television. She co-starred in David E. Kelleys Award-winning TV show Big Little Lies and a producer. Witherspoon, born Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon in New Orleans Louisiana on March 22 the 22nd of March, 1976. She was the daughter of a doctor and nurse Witherspoon grew up in Nashville Tennessee where she was a debutante and attended Harpeth Hall, a prestigious all-girls private high school. She then briefly studied English literature on the campus of Stanford University before deciding to resume her work. In the 2003 movie The Invisible Man she had her debut feature-length character. After that, she appeared in a number of television shows such as House of Lies Whitney or Better Call Saul. Alongside her acting career, she has appeared in films like The Dictator or The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. She is a talented artist and painter in along with being an accomplished actress.
